May 1, 1890 Dr. Albert Hartsuff, Fort Omaha, Nebraska Dear Sir:- In regard to the W.P. Edison Mortgage, I am prepared to cancel this, and the papers I believe are in the hands of a Bank in New York. I desire to pay the money over to you instead of paying it over to Mr. Whipple. The latter insists that the money be paid to him, to which I object. I want to draw a check to your order for the amount to cancel this mortgage, and I wish you would write a letter to my attorneys, Messrs Eaton & Lewis, No. 120 Broadway, New York City, or to myself, authorizing me to do this.
