Henry S. Wellcome, Esq., Hon. Secretary
Testimonial Banquet to Henry M. Stanley
Snow Mill Bdgs. London, B.C. England
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has asked me to acknowledge the receipt of your esteemed favor under date April 23rd, relative to obtaining phonographic communications from President Harrison and the members of his Cabinet, for use at the American Testimonial Banquet to Henry M. Stanley, which is to take place on the 30th of the present month.
Colonel Gouraud attended to this matter when he was in America, and I believe he obtained the desired phonograms. It will, therefore, be unnecessary for Mr. Edison to get in the matter.
Mr. Edison regrets very much that he will be unable to attend the Banquet.
Yours truly,
A.O. Tate
