May 9, 1890 Samuel Insull, Esq., United Edison Manufacturing Co., #44 Wall St., New York My dear Sir:- I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of 7th instant, enclosing note of the Edison Gen'l Electric Co., drawn at twelve months, for $32,041.04, bearing interest at 6% per annum, the same being in payment, first, of my old experimental amount on Electric Railroad, amounting to $38,261.04; and second its [illegible] of the sale of 1189 shares of stock of Electric Railway Company of the United States, the price being $20 per share. I note that you have received the vouchers for the payment on the stock, and also the payment on the experimental account, and I note further the action which you have taken in regard to interest in two-thirds of $15,000, about which you spoke to me the other day.
