January 21, 1891.
W. L. Byers, Esq.,
#51 West Sunniside, SUNDERLAND, England.
Dear Sir:-
Your esteemed favor of 6th instant was duly received by Mr. Edison.
The phonograph in England is controlled by the Edison United Phonograph Co., Northumberland Ave., London, S. W. This Company I believe will soon be ready to offer the machines for sale to the English public. You could obtain full information as to price etc. by application to the London office. The phonograph can be used to great advantage by blind people, and it would seem destined to become of inestimable service to them.
Yours very truly,
A O Tate
Private Secretary.
