Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has received your letter of 21st instant, and in reply I beg to inform you that there is no truth whatever in the report to which you refer of his having sent an expert to Philadelphia to examine your printing telegraph machines. None of Mr. Edison’s employees were sent to Philadelphia for the purpose mentioned, and if any such examination has been made, it was done without his knowledge or authority.
