January 23, 1891.
W. F. Ferrier, Esq.,
Ottawa, Canada.
My dear Mr. Ferrier,-
I am very sorry that there has been such a delay in answering your letter of 5th ultimo, which came duly to hand. On the 7th of December, however, I was obliged to go to bed with a very severe attack of inflammatory rheumatism, which confined me to my room until Monday last, 19th instant, upon which day I was able to visit the Laboratory for the first time in six weeks.
I have spoken to Mr. Dickson about sending you the Cabinet or the card catalogue of minerals, together with all fittings [illegible text]., and he will see that the same is forwarded to you within [the?] next few days. He will address it to your house instead of to the Geological Survey, in accordance with your desire.
Your proposed adjustment of the account between yourself and Mr. Edison, is entirely satisfactory.
Yours very truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
