Dear Sirs:-
Will you very kindly send me answers to the following questions with relation to your Company? Mr. Insull was to have obtained this information for me, but he has just started on an extended business trip, and the matter has evidently been overlooked by him. I am therefore obliged to trouble you in the matter:
(1) How many machines have you now out, and how are they distributed as regards different States?
(2) What were the gross receipts for all the machines for November and for December, so far as you know?
(3) How much does the share of the receipts received by your Company amount to for November and December, severally, and did you receive all that you are entitled to for these months?
(4) What was the gross amount that you received for your own share from the beginning of the business down to the latest date, and what disposition has been made of the money?
(5) What is your current monthly expense for salaries, rents etc., and how much for each in detail?
(6) Do you keep a regular set of books, and if se, do you have a regular monthly trial balance? Please lend me your last trial balance for examination, to be returned to you, or send me a copy of it. (7) How much Treasury stock has been sold, to whom, and at what price?
An early reply will be much appreciated by
Yours very truly,
Thos A Edison
