[illegible text] Dyer [illegible text],
#36 Wall St. New York City.
Dear Sirs:-
It appears that some time during the month of September last [year?] Mr. Seely sent a lot of assignments of patents to the Western Union Tel. Co. to Mr. Insull. Mr. Insull [illegible text] [new?] copy of a letter which he states was addressed to Mr. Edison on the 29th of September, copy of which I enclose. Mr. Edison states that the assignments were never given to him and he [illegible text] nothing whatever about them. Mr. Insull’s letter, of which [illegible text] enclosed is a copy, never passed through this office. Is it possible that these assignments could have been returned to you?
Yours truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
