February 18, 1891.
E. P. Rasetti, Esq.,
No. 76 Finsbury Pavement,
London, E. C., England.
Dear Sir:-
In reply to your letter of 27th ultimo I beg to say that Mr. Edison was not interested personally in any advertisements or in any catalogues connected with the Paris Exposition. If my advertisements were with authority inserted in any catalogues or any of the latter contracted for, the authorization must have come from some one of the Edison Companies, with the detail of whose affairs Mr. Edison is unfamiliar, having no connection therewith nor control over the same. It would appear that in the event of there being any claim the proper course is to address Mr. W. J. Hammer, Room #533, Temple Court, New York City, who from his connection with the matter must be familiar with it.
Yours very truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
