Dear Madame,-
Referring to Mr. Edison’s subscription for five shares of the Capital Stock of your Magazine, “THE PHONOGRAM,” and also to your letter of 23rd ultimo, I take pleasure in enclosing herewith Mr. Edison’s check for $250, covering half the amount of his subscription, the same being in accordance with your letter of 31st December last. Please acknowledge receipt of check, and send forward the dive shares of stock.
