Mr. Pierre Richemend, 
Hotel Victoria, New York.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to our conversation the day before yesterday I beg to advice you that Mr. Edison, not being an officer of the Edison General Electric Co. does not possess the requisite authority to grant you permission to spend a few weeks at the Company’s Works in Schenectady. Mr. Samuel Insull, 2nd Vice President of the Edison Gen’l. Electric Co., Edison Building, Broad St., New York, is the gentlemen whose consent it will be necessary for you to obtain. You can see Mr. Insull at his office any morning during the present week, and this letter will necessary for you to obtain.
