March 4, 1891.
F. N. Barrett, Esq.,
American Grocer,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
The statements concerning Mr. Edison contained in the clipping which accompanied your letter of 27th ultimo are untrue. Mr. Edison is not vegetarian. He, however, experiments now and then with this diet. Should he feel ill for some time he entirely changes his diet, so as to produce a change of the chemical reactions of digestion. This always alters the environment, so that he quickly feels all right again.
Yours truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
Private Secretary.
