March 5,1891.
Major S. B. Eaton,
#120 Broadway,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
You will have to institute a search for the deed of Clermont, Mr. Edison residence. It has never been in our possession. The only papers which we have had in connection with this property were those that you sent us at the time the mortgage was cancelled. We have all these, but the deed is not among them. Mrs. Edison tells me that it is not with her papers at the house. It may be in the Safe Deposit Vaults in New York. I have asked Mr. Insull if he knows anything about it.
Yours very truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
