Mr. Thomas A. Edison, 
Orange, New Jersey.
Dear Sir:-
We are recently informed that you hold all or some of the stock of the Edison Phonograph Company (which was sold by you to Mr. Lippincott) as collateral security for a note of Mr. Lippincott’s for the sum of $65,000 or $68,000.
We seem it proper to remind you in this formal way of a fact already known to you, via; that we hold an agreement made by Mr. Lippincott, about the date of your agreement with him, to sell and transfer to us at any time within 5 years all of the rights acquired by him from you, the Edison Phonograph Co. and the Edison Speaking Phonograph Co.
