Francis R. Upton, Esq. Gen’l. Manger,
Lamp Mfg., Dep't., Edison Gen'l Elec. Co.,
Harrison, N.J.
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison has read your letter of 8th instant in regard to the arcing of lamps. He notes that in your opinion the trouble is not in the carbons, but that it was caused by running the lamps too low on the pumps. In reply Mr. Edison says that perhaps you are right, but you have better carbons now.
Yours very truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
