Dear Sir:- I enclose herewith Certificates Nos. 75 and 92 of The [Sins?]-Edison Electric Torpedo Company, for 20 shares and 10 shares, respectively. Those certificates were bought to Mr. Edison by Mr. W.Scott [Sims?], who desired the former to subscribe at $50 each for the shares named in Certificate No.75 – 20 in number, the proceeds of which were to be paid into the treasury of The [Sims?]-Edison Electric Torpedo Co. As an inducement for Mr. Edison to take these shares Mr. [Sims?] offered him gratis the [illegible text] covered by certificate #92 – 10 shares in number. Mr. Edison declined to take the stock, offering you his right of subscription, of which you availed yourself. These certificates are therefore your property. Kindly acknowledge receipt. Yours very truly, (Signed A.O. Tate) Private Secretary.
