April 14, 1891. Miss V. H. McRae, Manager, “The Phonogram,” New York City. Dear Miss McRae, Mr. Edison has read your letter of 10th instant, and he regrets very much that his engagements are such he cannot arrange at the present time for a personal interview. He takes much pleasure, however, in forwarding to you the enclosed letter of introduction to Mr. Samuel Insull, in compliance with your request, and I have to-day written to Mr. Insull, preparing him for an interview with you and saying a good word in favor of “The Phonogram” as an advertising medium. Mr. Edison will be very pleased to do whatever lies in his power to assist your enterprise, which has his best wishes for success. Yours very truly, (signed A.O. Tate) Private Secretary.
