J.P. Barret, Esq., Chief Electrician,
Head Quarters, Fire Department,
Chicago, Ills.
Dear Sir:-
Mr. Edison desires me to say in reply to your letter of 10th instant that as he has never personally looked after the details of exhibits in previous Expositions, he has no data to guide him in answering your question regarding floor space. He says that the best posted man on electrical exhibits in Mr. W.J. Hammer, [Temple?] Court, Beekman St., New York City, who had charge of Mr. Edison’s display at the last French Exposition. Mr. Hammer has been at the head of nearly every electrical exhibit during the last ten years and would be an exceedingly valuable man to you. He is doing general electrical engineering work in New York and is not identified with any particular interest.
Yours very truly,
(Signed A.O. Tate)
Private Secretary.
