June 13, 1891. Major James Evans,- Fort Myers, Florida My dear Sir:- I am very much obliged for your letter of 8th instant, contents of which I have noted. Your action in placing a man in charge of my property at Ft. Myers meets with my approval, and your agreement to pay him forty dollars a month is also entirely satisfactory. The man can stay there on these terms. I shall be very much obliged if you will continue to look after my interest in Ft. Myers and exercise a general supervision over the property, seeing that the man performs his duty etc. For this I will allow you one hundred and fifty dollars per year. In regard to the machinery etc. in the Laboratory, I have decided to remove nothing from Ft. Myers, as I may go down there next winter and I will want the machinery. You need not therefore try to dispose of the pump and engine to Mr. Parker, a letter in regard to which Mr. Hibble informs me this morning he referred to yourself. Yours very truly, Thomas A. Edison
