My Dear Mr. Forbes,-
Permit me to introduce to you Mr. J.C. Henderson, Engineer in Chief to the Edison General Electric Co., who goes to Europe to recuperate his health after a somewhat tedious illness. Incidentally Mr. Henderson would like to observe the present practice in England with respect to railway construction and operation, and more especially where electricity is employed as a motive power. I shall be greatly indebted for any courtesies which you may extend, for which I beg to thank you in advance.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A. Edison
