Dear Sir:-
With reference to the enclosed message from Mr. Marcus, my iron process is applicable to the Alestian where the ore is obtained. Some time ago Mr. Villard sent to me two or three barrels of the ore, but by some mistakes the contents were dumped out at my Laboratory and lost. I would like to test the ore again, and would be obliged if you would arrange to have the parties send me a further sample of about 50 lbs. taken from all over the pile.
Yours very truly,
Thos A. Edison
