New York, July 18th, 1891.
Thomas A. Edison, Esq.
Dear Sir:-
We have your letter of the 16th instant, enclosing translation of letter from Dr. de Lalande. We find that Slattery has obtained a patent which seems to be substantially for the same invention as the patent which seems to be substantially for the same invention as the patent of de Virloy and others referred to by Dr. Lalande, and we judge from this patent which has been decided in his favor. We have sent to Washington to have the matter investigated and will be able to report to you more fully in a day or two.
We have ordered copies of the patents in question for you.
Yours truly.
(Signed) Dyer & Seely.
