Samuel Insull Esq-
Edison Building
New York.
Dear Sir,-
Referring to your favor of the 25th inst in regard to the Laboratory bills against the house. I beg to state that all the work done on material furnished for the house is billed at the exact cast and not one cent added to anything and the reason her bills are so large is the we are compelled to do a great deal of works here and a great many of our men up to the house to work and since the first of May when she began to pay the bills, all our accounts which we send her give the exact time and what the men work on and we would be only to glad to have her look over our time sheets and see that her bills are made out correct and at end.
In regard to the bill for Electric Lighting I beg to state that for the six months past the average cost per month is $54.74/100 and the total number of lamps at the house, stable and green house amount to 500 or about 10 cents a month for each lamp.
Trusting that the above information will be satisfactory I remain
Very Truly
J.F. Randolph.
P.S.
We have a meter at the house and we obtain each month from Mr. Kennelly how many ampere hours are used and charge .01 ½ per ampere hour which rate was figured out by Mr. Kennelly for Mr. Tate
