August 3, 1891.
Messrs. Dyer & Seely,
#36 Wall Street,
New York City.
Dear Sirs:-
With reference to your letter of 27th ultimo, requesting me to have a search made at the Laboratory for lamps of the Sawyer-Man Company or of the Consolidated Electric Company made prior to 1885, I beg to inform you that there is no record in the Lamp Test Room of my tests on such lamps prior to 1887. We have lamps made by both the Companies mentioned after 1887. We also have some of the Weston Tamadine lamps, but there is no date marked on these, and it is impossible to determine exactly to what period they belong.
Yours very truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Sec’y.
