Edison Building, New York.
CFW-------- August 11th, 1891.
Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building,
Broad Street, City.
Dear Sir:-
I had you herewith, letter dated the 3rd of March, addressed to Miss V.H. McRae, Manager of “THE PHONOGRAM”, transmitting Mr. Edison’s check for ($250.00) two hundred and fifty dollars, the amount of his subscription to the Capital Stock, of what he presumed was the “PHONOGRAM COMPANY”. There is a previous letter in which Mr. Edison agreed to take this stock, but the Laboratory have not sent me a copy of it. I have telephoned them this morning to make a copy and to forward it to you direct to-day. I enclose Mr. Edison’s original check #4561 under date of March 4th, for ($250.00) two hundred and fifty dollars to the order of “THE PHONOGRAM”, which is endorsed “THE PHONOGRAM”, by V.H. McRae. Please acknowledge receipt, and oblige,
Yours truly,
Private Secretary.
