Thomas R. Lombard, Esq., Vice-President,
North American Phonograph Company,
#14 & 16 Morris Ave.,
Jersey City, N.J.
My dear Sir:-
I am in receipt of a letter from Mr. Harrison, the Editor of Frank Harrison’s Shorthand Magazine, addressed to Mr. Edison, in which he states that he has written you, making a proposition regarding the purchase of a number of his journals, in consideration of which he proposes copying the article on the Phonograph which was written by Mr. Frank R. Colvin, of the Electrical Engineer. I think you are aware who Mr. Harrison is, but in case you have forgotten him, I wish to inform you that he is the gentlemen who has made several unsuccessful attempts to obtain patronage in the manner closely resembling blackmail. In order not to advertise him we have simply ignored him.
Yours very truly,
Private Secretary.
