Aug. 19th, 91. N.A. Jennings Esq., [illegible] Main St., Dallas, Texas. Dear Sir:- In reply to your letter of 4th instant I beg to say that Mr. Edison read your previous communication and asked me to acknowledge the same. Shortly after, I went away and have only just returned and the acknowledgement of your letter is one of the many things awaiting my attention. I believe that the machine which you describe is very similar to Mr. Edison’s and is expressed himself as being interested in your communication. He is not yet satisfied with the working of the Kinetograph, but intends continuing his experiments. He has not been at the Laboratory for the last two months, being engaged upon some mining work. Mr. Edison, expects to have this instrument completed in time for the World’s Fair at Chicago, in 1893. Kindly pardon the delay which has occurred in responding to your letter. Yours very truly, Private Secretary,
