Dear Sir
I have just received your letter under date 12th inst. Addressed to Mr. Edison. I don’t understand why I did not get this letter before but presume it is because Mr. McGuire, my assistant has been away on his holiday. I will ascertain whether or not a notice from Mr. Waik, Assignee of Jesse H. Lippincott, has been served on the Edison Phonograph Works. I am not aware that the works have any claim whatsoever against Mr. Lippincott; their claim is against the North American Phonograph Co, and all the details are in your hands
Yours very truly
