October 17th, 1891.
Thomas A. Edison, Esq.,
Orange, N.J.
Dear Sir:-- The Edison Phonograph Works have on hand 89,000 cylinders ready for shipment. The shipments on account the North American Phonograph Company average about three thousand, cylinders per week, which means that the Works have a six months supply ahead. Ilsworth [Ayelsworth?] was talking a few days ago about starting up the wax factory at Silver Lake, but in view of the above condition of affairs it will of course be entirely unnecessary to reopen the wax factory this winter.
Yours truly,
A.O. Tate
