October 27th, 1891.
Thomas A. Edison, Esq.,
New Jersey & Pennsylvania Concentrating Works,
Ogdensburg, N.J.
Dear Mr. Edison:--
I hand you herewith, copy of letter from Charles E. Pugh, General Manager, of the Pennsylvania Railroad, in regard to the installation of Phonoplex Circuits on the lines of the Philadelphia, Wilmington & Baltimore Railroad and the Baltimore & Potomac Railroad.
I also attach a reply to this communication which I have drafted, and which I wish you would kindly sign and return to me. Of course, since the original contract with the Pensylvania Railroad was made our Phonoplex Circuits have changed, but I do not consider it wise to decline to acceed to Mr. Pugh’s wish, that the operation of the circuits which he proposes to install for the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad, should come under the contract with the Pennsylvania R.R. Company.
