October 29th, 1891.
Edison Phonograph Toy Manufacturing Company,

15 Day St.,
New York City.
Dear Sirs:--
Re Projected Suits by Yeomans against Edison and Others.
I believe you are aware that Mr. D.M. Yeomans, who went to Europe in 1889 on business connected with the affairs of your Company, has commenced suit against Mr. Edison, and also against each of the gentlemen who at that time were Trustees of the Top Company, for all alleged misrepresentation.
Mr. Edison’s Counsel wishes to procure a copy of the prospectus issued by Mr. Yeomans in London, and which was published, if I recollect rightly, in the “Financial News”. A copy of this journal was sent to Boston, and it is probable that your Attorney Mr. W.S. Hutchinson is aware of its whereabouts of the present time. If you can kindly let me have this, I will see that it is returned to you after our Counsel has made use of it. We believe that when Mr. Yeoman’s Attorneys have been shown the claims set up by Mr. Yeomans in this prospectus, they will understand, as we do, that Mr. Yeomans is alone responsible for the action of Col. Gourand and the London Stereoscopic Company. As this is a matter in which we are mutually interested, will you be kind enough to give it prompt attention?
Yours truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Secretary.
