Letterhead of Edison General Electric Co.
CONFIRMATION OF MESSAGE.
Name of Person Sending Name of Person Receiving Time Date
D.M. Smith I.30 11/5/1891
From whom received: Mr. Samuel Insull Second Vice President
To whom sent: Mr. Thomas A. Edison Esq, Ogden Mines.
Edison General Company’s Company stock quoted at 94. About eleven o’clock it was 96. The transfer-books were opened yesterday, there were quite a number of shares offered at 97, and a few fractional points over that figure but no dealings took place. We cannot at present account for this fall: Drexel, Morgan & Company do not know what to make of it, they simply content themselves by saying that the market of the security is demoralized. The order you gave Butler has not been executed and will be held for the present. Am myself making further inquiries and will report details later.
