Dear Sir:-
In reply to your letter of the 19th instant, I beg to say that Mr. Edison is at the present time visiting some mines in the State of New Jersey, and the date of his return is very uncertain. I think it altogether probable however, that he will be home within a week or ten days, and shall be glad to know if it would be convenient for Mme. Sarah Bernhardt to visit the Laboratory when Mr. Edison got there before Mr. Edison returns, I will be very pleased to make all necessary arrangements upon receipt of advice from you.
