Dear Sir:-
I hand you herewith, a list of the wires of the Great North Western Telegraph Company of Canada which are batteried at Toronto. I desire to make an estimate for supplying these with current from Edison Lalande Cells. Wires No. 26, 27 & 28 are already battered with our cells. Will you kindly prepare a diagram. I don’t wish, if possible, to take any shunts out of a battery, that but to run all the wires from one end. Of course, we can introduce artificial resistance, but perhaps you will not find this necessary. I think you will be able to group all these wires, so that we can use not more than three or four separate batteries. However, will you please arrange them in whatever way you consider the most desirable.
Yours truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Secretary.
