Aug. /27, 1891.
S.B. Eaton, Esq.
Edison Building, Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
Referring to the attached correspondence and deed of the Edison Phonograph Works to the inhabitants of the Township of West Orange, will you please note Mr. Edison’s remark upon the latter which I addressed to him under date 19th August. He [asked?] “How about Auchincloss mortgage?” Mr. H. B. Auchincloss holds a mortgage on the property of the Edison Phonograph Works in the sum of ten thousand dollars. Does this in any way affect our right to make a deed of Watchung Avenue?
Yours very truly.
Private Secretary.
I have instructed the Works to mail you a copy of the Auchincloss mortg. mortgage
