Mrs. Mary Gill
41 Rose Street
Newark N.J.
Madam.
Your letter came to hand this morning and I beg to state that there is no one employed at the Edison Laboratory by the name of Mr. Byron.
I saw Mr. Edison when he was here yesterday and had a talk in regard to lending you the money which you spoke to Mr. Miller about and he says that he will not lend the money so please do not ask me to go to him again as I will not do it as he has told me no about half a dozen times and there is no use in writing or having anyone the write for he says he will not lend it and when he makes up his mind it cannot be changed.
Yours truly
John F. Randolph
