Nov. 11, 1891. O. H. Warren, Esq., No. 27 South Fourth Street, Minneapolis, Minn. Dear Sir:- With reference to your letter of 2nd instant in regard to Mr. Edison’s process for the treatment of magnetic iron ore, Mr. Edison regrets that he is not yet ready to quote figures as to cost of plant etc. He has just completed the erection of a very large plant in Ogden, N. J., having a capacity of three thousand tons per day, and at a cost of $720,000. The results at Ogden will settle the question of commercial concentration of ores carrying less than 25% units of iron. One mill is already in operation, and the other will start in about three weeks. After the mills have been running for some time Mr. Edison will be in a position to give you the information that you desire. Yours truly, A. O. Tate Private Sec’y.
