Dear Sir:-
Reply to your letter of 17th instant has been delayed owing to the necessity of my having to forward it to Mr. Edison, who is at present absent from home. He has instructed me to inform you that he will be very pleased to have Mr. Alexander Bull and yourself visit his Laboratory at any time that you may find convenient. If you will notify me a day or so ahead of your visit I will have a phonograph in readiness, upon which Mr. Bull can record the tones of the celebrated Cremona Violin referred to in your letter.
Thanking you for your communication
I am, yours very truly,
