Dec. 1, 1891.
Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building,
Broad St.,
New York.
Dear Sir:-
Re Chandler Mortgage. Mr. Edison has read your letter of 30th ultimo, notifying him that the property of the late Mrs. Chandler has been sold under mortgage foreclosure for $7,500. He notes that the claim of the Mutual Lifts Ins. Co. is $6,624.99, and the Sheriff’s fees #94.50, a total of $6,719.29; that this leaves a surplus of $780.51, for which you are going to apply in Mr. Edison’s interest. I enclose herewith the bond and mortgage for that purpose, agreeable to your request, the receipt of which kindly acknowledge.
Yours truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
