January 12, 1892. C. H. Coster Esq., New York City. My dear Coster,- Your letter of 5th instant is before me, and I am glad that the two companies which you refer to have been [illegible text] in the interest of the N.Y. Illuminating Co. Everything of general utility is bound to succeed in New York City. Regarding the 50 volt lamp, remember that our opponents have almost a corner on in that process, but I have got it down to 74 volts and am working hard on the problem. Give me a little more time and I’ll bob up serenely with a fifty volter; I appreciate its commercial value. Yours very truly, Thomas A. Edison [R.?]
