Mr. O. J. Conley,
N. J. & Penn’a. Concentrating Works
Ogdensburgh, N. J.
Dear Sir:-
At Mr. Edison’s request I forward to you the enclosed letter received by me to-day from the Superintendent of the Western Union Telegraph Co., Mr. Walter C. Humstone, with relation to the establishment of a telegraph office at Ogden. As you will see, Sup’t. Holmes, under whose supervision the proposed office would come, considers it impracticable to loop the wire from Ogdensburgh to Ogden, and suggests that a telephone line be built from the nine to Ogdensburgh, to connect with the office at that place.
Yours truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary,
M.
