Feb. 12, 1892.
Major S. B. Eaton,
Edison Building,
Broad Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
I return herewith the letter of Messrs. Dyer and Seely, re Canadian Patents, which accompanied your letter to me of 9th instant.
I was aware that no Canadian patents for any of my inventions relating to electric lighting had been applied for since 1883. I considered that Canadian patents had no value; that it was a waste of money to obtain them; and that they might shorten the life of the corresponding U. S. patents.
Yours very truly,
Thomas A. Edison
