Dear Sir:-
 With reference to your letter of 1st instant, asking Mr. Edison how Wednesday, March 9th, would suit him to testify in the Field case, he wishes you to postpone as possible the talking of his testimony in this matter. Make the date as far away as you can, notify Mr. Edison of it, and he will attend.
This reply has been somewhat delayed owing to the necessity of my having forward your letter to Ogden, where Mr. Edison now is.
