March 10, 1892.
Samuel Insull, Esq., 2nd Vice-Pres't.,
Edison Gen’l. Electric Co.,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
In compliance with your telephone request of to-day, I enclose herewith a copy of the letter addressed to you by Mr. Edison on the 19th of February last in reply to your communication to him of the 17thof February with relation to an electric motor for the Northern Pacific System. I regret that one sentence and part of another sentence of Mr. Edison’s communication, as contained in our letter-book, are indecipherable, the press copy of the same being imperfect. Mr. Edison did not write the letter with copying ink; hence our office boy failed to secure a good impression of it. Should the original be found in your office I would be obliged if you would kindly have sent to me a copy of these portions of the documentation which are omitted from our letter-book, and which are indicated on the copy sent you herewith, so that our record may be perfect.
Yours very truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Sec’y.
