March 12, 1892.
Dr. J. Mount Bleyer,
No. 118 East 10th Street,
New York City.
My dear Sir:-
Reply to your letter of 6th instant has been somewhat delayed owing to the necessity of my having to forward it to Mr. Edison, who is at present absent from home.
Mr. Edison has directed me to say that he will notify you immediately after his return to the Laboratory, when you can come out and see him and he will be very pleased to inform you fully with relation to his latest work upon the phonograph.
In regard to the presentation of phonograph to the New York Infirmary of the Diseases of Nose and Throat, Mr. Edison will be very glad to make this donation and will have an instrument specially prepared for the purpose which will be adapted for use in such an institution. The phonograph which he will have constructed will be furnished with a diaphragm capable of very accurate and sensitive work.
Yours very truly,
A. O. Tate
Private Secretary.
