Dear Sir:-
Your letter of 21st instant is at hand. The views mention in my previous letter will be forwarded to you before April 10th, the date which you specify. Mr. Edison would not permit the slides to be sold, and you will therefore please return them the day after the graduating exercises take place. Your request was received just at a time when we were preparing views for a special purpose of our own; otherwise we would have been unable to accommodate you. A photograph of Mr. Edison, from which you can have a slide made, goes forward to you by this mail, under separate cover. In regard to a talking doll, I regret very much my inability to furnish you with one of these. The Toy Phonograph business is tied up in litigation, and it is therefore impossible to gratify your wishes in this connection. Regarding a view of a phonograph record, highly magnified, I do not know where such a view could be obtained; at present we could not undertake to make one.
Yours truly,
A.O. Tate
