Mr. F.J. Kuhne,
No. 18 Front Street,
New York City.
Dear Sir:-
With reference to the last barrel of cylinder oil which you sent to the Laboratory our Engineer reports that it is not suitable for our engines or pumps. In his estimation the oil is of a very inferior grade. Inasmuch as the piston of our large engine travels at the rate of 331 feet per minute it is imperatively necessary that we use a superior grade of oil, with good lubricating qualities. Your oil does not meet our requirements.
Engine oil we do not use. The dynamo oil supplied by you we do not consider worth what you charge for it.
Yours truly,
THE EDISON LABORATORY
