April 11, 1892. W.F. Taylor, Esq., Div Operator, Pennsylvania Railroad Co., Altoona, Pa. Dear Sir:- I have received your letter of 8th instant, informing me that my suggestion relative to making a test of a cable about the conditions that which would prevail in working a cable between Jersey City and Philadelphia, have been favorably considered by the Committee of Cables was instructed to arrange for such a test under my direction; also that you have been detailed to arrange the matter. I will at once make the necessary preparations for this test, and as soon as we are ready to proceed with the preliminary work I will notify you. I have no objection to your being present during the progress of the tests and shall be glad you have you Witness them. Yours very truly, Thomas A. Edison. [M?]
