The Edison General Electric Company,
Edison Building,
New York City.
Dear Sirs:-
In regard to the manufacture of fractional horsepower motors, we beg to submit the following bid for five hundred of each of the 1/12th HP and 1/6 HP sizes of the Edison Composite Frame Fan Motors, together with particulars concerning the same.
1/12 HP. Motor.
Weight 18 lbs., with fan and without guard
Speed 1,400 revs., per minute driving fan
The Motor delivers 50 watts and 1,200 revs., per minute with 40% commercial efficiency.
The 120 volt model takes 1/3rd ampere when driving fan at full speed.
The 500 volt motor takes 1/9th ampere driving fan full speed.
Either can be forcibly arrested and hold with the current on without danger of immediately burning out.
Price with fan without guard wound for 120 volts---$16.00 each
$1.00 extra two speeds.
$1.00 extra for guard.
Same motor sound for 500 volts--$22.50 each, including Fan.
Guard $1.00 extra. 1/6 HP. MOTOR
Weight 27 ½ lbs., with Fan and without Guard.
Speed 1,400 revs. Per minute driving 12’ Fan.
The 120 volt model delivers 128 watts at a commercial efficiency of 42.7% and 90 watts at 48%
The 120 volt model takes 0.55 amperes, driving fan at speed.
The 500 volt model takes 0.21 amperes driving fan at speed.
Either can be held for a little while without danger of immediately burning out.
Price with Fan (without guard) wound for 120 volts-$22.00 each.
Price with Fan (without guard) wound for 500 volts-$23.75 each.
Guards for either of above---$1.00 extra.
Two speeds for 120 volt machine---$1.00 extra
All the above prices are quoted F.O.B., Orange, N.J.
We are not at the moment prepared to submit a bid for the manufacture of the ½ HP.motor, but will do so in the course of a week or ten days.
Yours truly,
(Signed) A.O. Tate,
Secretary
