Mr. S.F. Langley, Sec’y.,
Smithsonian Institution,
Washington, D.C.
Dear Sir:-
Your letter of 5th instant addressed to Mr. Edison at 83 Fifth Avenue, New York City, in regard to galvanometer reflecting mirrors, has been forwarded to him at Orange. In reply Mr. Edison directs me to say that if you will forward some glass to the Laboratory he will have it coated with platinum and returned to you when you could cut out the mirrors with a diamond. He has already made a large number of slides with platinum deposit in vacuum, and has all the facilities for doing the work.
Trusting this will be satisfactory to you
I am, yours truly,
A.O. Tate
Private Secretary.
